UOL is also the primary shareholder in SingLand, which was originally known as UIC (United Industrial Corporation). UVI will pay 80 percent of the acquisition cost, or S$440.6 million, based on its share of ownership in the JV, with SRD covering the remainder.

According to both parties when they made their remarks, the acquisition of WEC is a regular commercial operation that will allow both parties to refill their property reserves for the construction of residential properties in Singapore. According to SingLand, the JV partners intend to convert this property into a condo subject to the necessary clearances from the appropriate authorities. Both JV parties intend to codify the agreements they agreed to in connection with the property's acquisition and redevelopment, as well as share earnings and risks proportionally to their affiliates' holdings in the JV's equity.
