The West Virginia attorney general threatens to sue Sue Biden for his gun control executive actions

On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced a series of gun control directives. However, this has already come back to bite him as West Virginia attorney general Patrick Morrisey (R) threatens to file a lawsuit against his government over the anti-weapons measures.

Morrisey shoots back at Biden

“Defending the second amendment remains a top priority for the West Virginia attorney general. I will not allow the extreme left to disregard our citizens’ gun rights. If President Biden implements his proposals, we will be on trial very quickly, ”Morrisey said in a statement.

“Gun violence and the senseless death that it brings should hurt all Americans. However, the evil deeds of a few should never be a catalyst to deprive the rightful masses of their constitutional rights, particularly their right to self-defense and to use arms, “he added.

Biden’s announcement of gun control

This came after Biden ordered the Justice Department to write laws requiring background checks for homemade “ghost rifles”. He also directed the Justice Department to develop a model of “red flag” laws for states as a possible guideline.

“The idea is just bizarre to point out that some of the things we recommend are against the constitution,” Biden said in a speech in the rose garden.

“Gun violence in this country is an epidemic,” the president continued, describing the matter as an “international embarrassment”.

“It is the job of every president to protect the American people, whether Congress acts or not,” said Biden. “I will use all resources available to me to protect the American people from gun violence. But there is much more that Congress can do to support these efforts. “

Biden aims for second change

Biden also made it clear that he has no problem targeting the second change.

“No change to the constitution is absolute,” Biden said, according to the New York Post. “You can’t shout … ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater and call it free speech.”

“From the start, you couldn’t have a weapon that you wanted to own,” he said. “Right from the start, when the second amendment existed, certain people were not allowed to have weapons.”
