Senator Warnock said of CNN’s State Of The Union, “Well, you know, I’m very sure it’s not about me. This is really about preserving the voices of the people and their democracy and I honestly think Dana that politicians who are focused on their own political ambitions have brought us here. You have had lawmakers who are afraid. Instead of letting people choose their politicians, politicians try to choose their voters. This is an attack on the covenant we have made as the American people, and it is my job to protect it. “

Republicans are scared. The reason they are so outraged about the For The People Act is because it would rob them of the tools for falsifying elections, which include dark money, voter suppression, and gerrymandering. If the For The People Act became law, Republicans would have to try to appeal to voters and get more votes than their opponents.

Since the Republican Party platform is unpopular with the majority of the country, they have to downsize the electorate to win.

The 2020 election showed what happens to Republicans when more people vote. Republicans are scared, so they will do whatever they can to stop people from voting.
