A Honduran migrant traveling to the US in a caravan of thousands said he was making the trip because President-elect Biden “will help us all”.
In an interview with The Hill, the man said that he had traveled from the Honduran tourist island of Roatán.
A reporter asked the man what he was looking for in the crowd of migrants standing behind him.
“Coming to the US because they have a new president,” was his reply.
“He will help us all,” claimed the migrant, referring to Biden. “He gives us 100 days to get to the US to get legal status and live better lives for our children and families.”

Last month, a Bloomberg News report said several immigrant trailers have formed in Central America and are driving to the border as an “early test” for Biden and his promised efforts to end President Trump’s sweeping immigration reforms.

“Biden has pledged to abolish many of Donald Trump’s migration policies, including prolonged detention and family separation, aimed at preventing illegal migration,” writes Bloomberg.

The Honduran migrant in the clip above seems to make explicit reference to Biden’s promise to offer illegal aliens a route to citizenship within their first 100 days in office.
“I will commit in the first 100 days. I will send the US Senate an immigration bill with a route to citizenship for over 11 million undocumented people in America,” Biden vowed during an NBC interview.
During the presidential campaign, Biden said he was creating a route to citizenship for illegal aliens because “we owe them something”.

The Daily Mail reports that “Guatemalan troops attempted to prevent the caravan of an estimated eight thousand Honduran migrants from reaching the United States,” the clash being marred by violence.
An official from the Biden transition team asked the Honduran migrant caravan to turn back … for now.
“Help is on the way, but now is not the time to make the trip,” said the officer.

The signals from Biden and his team have contradicted the request not to make the trip.
Biden announced in December that he intended to hire a “high-level” official at the DOJ whose sole role and focus would be to systematically reverse President Trump’s immigration policy.
CNN previously reported that it was ready to unleash “a spate” of executive orders aimed at “undoing” the Trump administration’s efforts to reform key government agencies, including possible anti-immigration measures.
Thomas Homan, Executive Associate Director of Immigration and Customs Control (ICE) under the Obama-Biden administration, told Fox News it was no surprise that these migrants believe they have a friend in Joe.
“I said if Biden became president, it would happen,” Homan said. “The things he said, the promises he made … If you throw out those kinds of enticements, who won’t come to the greatest country on earth?”

Biden announced earlier this month that his immigration operations would begin immediately, adding that a criminal investigation into the Trump administration’s family separation policies would be underway.
That said, he is more concerned about imprisoning people who followed the guidelines he and Barack Obama implemented than about allowing criminal illegals to roam the streets of America.
