A man who was photographed at Spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi’s office Wednesday during the DC riot has been arrested.
Richard Barnett was arrested in Arkansas on charges of entering and staying on restricted grounds, forced entry, and theft of public property.
Photos of Barnett with one foot on Pelosi’s desk quickly circulated as an example of the chaos that enveloped the Capitol when a mob in support of President Donald Trump passed police and threatened lawmakers.
Barnett, who rides Bigo, bragged to reporters about what he did shortly after leaving the Capitol, which ultimately helped the police track him down.
“I wrote her a nasty note and put my feet on her desk,” he told the New York Times, holding an envelope that he had taken from the office and had the speaker’s letterhead on it.

Police identified Barnett after comparing images released by the media to a photo of Barnett obtained through law enforcement databases. This resulted in an affidavit signed by Special Agent James Soltes of the US Capitol Police and published by the Justice Department.
“On the same day, BARNETT spoke to the media in a video recording. In the recording, BARNETT wears the same hat and checkered jacket as in the speaker’s office, except that BARNETT has apparently taken off his shirt,” wrote Soltes.
Soltes wrote that an off-camera person asked Barnett how he received an envelope in his hand addressed to Rep. Billy Long, R-Mo., Von Pelosi.
Soltes wrote that when asked, Barnett replied, “I didn’t steal it. I bled on it because they maceded me and I couldn’t see, so I thought I was in their office. I have a quarter on their desk even though she’s not worth it. And I left a note on her desk that said, “Nancy, Bigo was here, you B- —.” “
Barnett could not be immediately reached for comment.
Other materials were also removed from Pelosi during the raid, with possible national security implications.
An aide for the California Democrat told NBC News that one of the speaker’s laptops was stolen during the riot.
The laptop was only used for presentations, the aide said, but the theft raised further concerns about the possible theft of electronics containing sensitive government information during the breach.
Barnett claimed to be a white nationalist and criticized Pelosi shortly before the attack on Facebook while writing under a pseudonym, the Washington Post reported.
The Justice Department has announced that it will bring charges against those involved in crimes related to the riot. By Thursday, prosecutors had initiated 55 criminal cases and at least 15 federal cases.
A GOP member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, Derrick Evans, was also indicted in connection with the riot on Friday, NBC News reported. Evans posted a video entering the Capitol on social media.
