For local Fort Worth transportation service, Limo Service Fort Worth, 2020 has been a manure sandwich half eaten. “I think like everyone dealing with the pandemic and all the trouble that this has caused, we are no different” said owner, Greg Thomas. “We got served a s*** sandwich this year in our business. But, halfway thru, we chose to stop eating it.”
As one of the leaders in the local entertainment transportation industry, Limo Service Fort Worth has certainly seen it’s fair share of lean years, but this year was one of the most troubling. “We definitely have felt the sting along with everyone else. But, we’ve tried to diversify as much as possible, and make ourselves available for “out of the box” opportunities” Thomas continued.
Local limousine services certainly have taken a hit nationwide this year. With proms, weddings, sporting events, concerts, and everything else falling victim to being canceled, limo service providers have seen their rental service deteriorate significantly. The death knell for many larger stable fleets nationwide, though, has been the loss of commercial business from trade shows, airport transportation, and general contracts with larger corporations.
“The loss of corporate business is where we really got hit. We pick up weddings here and there for those who are still making the decision to plan safe events.” When asked about what precautions Thomas’ Fort Worth based limousine rental business takes to keep passengers safe, he responded, “Well, it’s a limousine…so as you might think…there’s not really a great way to do social distancing. We try to limit groups to families, or smaller groups that are already spending time with each other. All passengers must be masked while in our vehicles, and obviously our team does a superb job of cleaning and sanitizing all vehicles between uses.”
While other businesses are closing doors, shuttering their windows, folding up, and saying goodbye to their long cherished customers, other businesses are carving out space for what their business is to look like during COVID and post-COVID, Limo Service Fort Worth being among them. Lastly, when Greg Thomas was asked what the public might be excited about riding in a limousine for during the upcoming months, he replied, “Christmas Lights Limo Tours – We give the best if I do say so myself. The weather is usually great, so having the windows down to be able to see the lights better is not a problem!”
