The former First Lady Michelle Obama was just singing the praises of Joe Biden in a preview of her speech Monday at the opening of the virtual Democratic National Convention.
The DNC released a clip prior to Michelle’s speech in which she described Biden as “decent” and experienced.
“I know Joe,” she said. “He is a profoundly decent man guided by faith. He was a terrific vice president. He knows what it takes to rescue an economy, beat back a pandemic and lead our country.”
“And he listens,” Michelle continued. “He will tell the truth and trust science. He will make smart plans and manage a good team. And he will govern as someone who’s lived a life that the rest of us can recognize.”
This comes after President Donald Trump mocked Michelle for taping her speech during a rally in Minnesota on Monday.
“You know I noticed that their convention tonight, these are all taped speeches. Michelle Obama’s speech is taped,” Trump said, according to Daily Mail. “Why don’t they tell me that? I’ll tape my speech next week. It’s a lot easier.”
Michelle is set to kick off the virtual convention, which is the first of its kind amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The DNC released previews of other speakers as well, including New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), according to The Hill.

In Cuomo’s speech, he is set to blast Trump for his handling of the coronavirus crisis, ignoring the fact that the way he handled it in New York has been widely panned.
“Americans’ eyes have been opened, and we have seen in this crisis the truth: that government matters and leadership matters,” Cuomo said. “And it determines whether we thrive and grow, or whether we live or die.”
As for Sanders, he will try to appeal to progressives and convince them to vote for Biden.
“My friends, I say to you, and to everyone who supported other candidates in this primary and to those who may have voted for Donald Trump in the last election,” Sanders said. “The future of our democracy is at stake. The future of our economy is at stake. The future of our planet is at stake. We must come together, defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as our next president and vice president. My friends, the price of failure is just too great to imagine,’ he will say according to his prepared remarks released by the party.”
